first_img Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois 1 Chelsea no.1 Thibaut Courtois has signed a new five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.The Belgian goalkeeper joined the Blues from Genk in 2011, but spent three successful seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid, where he lifted both La Liga and Europa League titles, before returning to the Blues this summer.Manager Jose Mourinho has shown his faith in Courtois by picking him as his first choice keeper for the first three Premier League games ahead of Petr Cech, who has been a virtual ever-present between the sticks for the last ten seasons.And Courtois, 22, told Chelsea’s official website: “I’m very happy with this new deal, it’s really nice to have signed this new contract for five years.“My future was already sorted but it’s nice to know I’m going to be here for another five years and now I can just concentrate on playing games.”last_img read more
