JOHN, B.C. — A local group trying to get its pro-LNG message heard through a petition to support Pacific NorthWest LNG has received 500 signatures from people who support the project.The group FSJ for LNG was at Home Hardware on Saturday to gather signatures. Founder Alan Yu said he wasn’t too surprised by the reactions he received, though he was please to see the number of people who signed their petition exceed their expectations.“They were immediately on board,” he said. “They see the value of liquefied natural gas, and how important it is to Fort St. John.”- Advertisement -The group is also encouraging others who support the project to write in to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency during the public comment period of PNW LNG’s review. The deadline for comments — which can be sent by email at [email protected] — is March 11, 2016.Just one week ago, the group had about 300 members on Facebook. Today, it has over 1,400.Their campaign has spread to other cities, and now Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, and Prince George also hosts their own local pro-LNG groups.
