Tipoff between the Bulldogs and Delta Devils is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Knapp Center with the contest broadcast on Mediacom MC22, The Valley on ESPN3 and ESPN Des Moines 1350-AMDrake will also stage its annual Teddy Bear Toss at halftime. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game that will be collected and given to child in need.In their last outing, the Bulldogs dropped another close contest in an 83-75 loss to South Dakota State. Drake rallied from a 14-point deficit to within two points, but could not catch the Jackrabbits to earn their first win under head coach Jeff Rutter.That contest saw Billy Wampler score in double-figures for the six-straight game with 18 points on 12 shots in the loss to South Dakota State. The forward is averaging 20.3 points on .500 three-point shooting in the last three games. Teammate C.J. Rivers is averaging 6.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists in the last two games after nearly recording a double-double against SDSU with 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists.MVSU travels to Des Moines with an 0-12 record with all 12 games coming on the road against a slate that ranks as the fourth-toughest non-conference schedule in the nation this season. Marcus Romain leads the team with 12.7 points per game on 48 percent shooting.Thursday’s game is the fourth in the series between the two teams but the first in 16 years.
