first_imgThe position of Associate Director, Industry Ventures will design,implement, and manage a comprehensive and proactive developmentplan focused on expanding and enhancing relationships with industrypartners interested in increasing industry sponsored research andlicensing UH intellectual property. Evaluates and analyzes markets,particularly in Houston and across Texas, to identify potentialpartners. Identifies, markets and collaborates with potentialindustry partners to expand the innovation ecosystem at theTechnology Bridge. Manages a portfolio of partnership opportunities acrossmultiple industry verticals (pharma/biotech/medical, energy,industrials, information technology, etc.).Identifies industry partners who may pursue sponsored researchor license UH technologies.Partners with faculty researchers and inventors to identifyareas of research collaboration and licensing/commercialization ofUH technologies.Responsible for setting goals for the portfolios thatcontribute to the delivery of the OTTI strategy.Leads the negotiation of new and amended technology transferagreements (licenses, options and IP related research agreements)of high complexity with external entities.Negotiates and executes, in collaboration with the faculty andthe Offices of Contracts and Grants, master research agreements, IPlanguage, licenses, and any other agreements with industrypartners.Monitors industry sponsored research spending and relatedlicense agreements.Manages support staff, such as licensing associates/assistants,administrative support, and/or interns.Collaborates with Communications team to develop marketing andoutreach strategies to attract industry partners.Performs other job-related duties as required. EEO/AAQualifications :Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years experience.Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoreticaland practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professionaldiscipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professionaldiscipline.
